Prometheus Cave & Martvili Canyon<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Prometheus Cave, is one of the most remarkable caves in Georgia because of its colorfulness, size, and natural sculptures. The name derives from the Greek god of fire. Prometheus is best known for defying the Olympian gods by stealing fire from them and giving it to humanity in the form of technology, knowledge, and more generally, civilization. Zeus, king of the Olympian gods, condemned Prometheus to eternal torment for his transgression. According to one of the versions, Prometheus was bound to one of the cave in the Caucasus and locals believed that it occurred exactly in here. Thus, this area became well-known as Prometheus cave.<\/p>

There are 22 halls found, where just 6 halls are open for tourists. It is possible to walk through the length of 1420 meters in the cave’s territory visit the halls and enjoy boat tour by walking the river.<\/span><\/p>

After visiting Prometheus cave, it’s time to explore the beautiful areas of Samegrelo region and the next stop is Martvili Canyon. It is 2.4 km long, and the height of the canyon walls reaches 40 m in some places. The main highlight of the Martvili Canyon is boating to the waterfalls. Inflatable boats, life jackets and helmets at the pier hint at white water rafting, but boating the canyon is a pleasant, easy trip, and the equipment is just a safety precaution. The length of the route the boats take along the river is about 1 km, and the trip takes about 30 minutes<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
